Які смартфони Samsung та Xiaomi залишаться без захисту- терміни оновлення безпеки

Not all smartphones can last like the Apple iPhone 11 and receive updates not only for security but also for the new iOS 27, which no one expected to see on a 7-year-old smartphone. Instead, many manufacturers drop updates for their devices earlier than you expected, leaving the smartphone without the latest features. But what matters even more is when they stop receiving security patches.

Which Samsung and Xiaomi smartphones will lose protection: security update timelines

It is thanks to these patches that your smartphone is protected from hacking, banking data leaks, and other data breaches. Therefore, this article is not about the newest features, but about how long specific smartphones can provide safe operation. And while the end of Android updates (interface, new features) is just annoying, the end of security patches is critical. Without them, the phone becomes vulnerable to new cyber threats.

Devices that fall into the lists up to and including 2026 become vulnerable to new types of exploits and banking trojans. Using them for active financial transactions or storing corporate data after the specified year is highly risky.

What experts recommend if your smartphone’s support has already ended

You can continue using the phone if the apps run stably. However, it is advisable to stop using such a device for mobile banking, storing important passwords, or handling other sensitive data. An old gadget can be repurposed: turned into a smart home remote, car navigator, media player, or home security camera.
