S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Bugs Fixed and What’s Coming Next

After years of delays and anticipation, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is finally gaining momentum. Ukrainian developer GSC Game World recently released a detailed development roadmap outlining upcoming features, fixes, and improvements for the game.

Key highlights include smarter enemy AI, limited grenade usage, and more lifelike mutant behavior. Mutants will now react to threats, consume corpses, and drop loot — creating a more immersive open-world experience.

For modding fans, there’s great news: the team plans to release a Mod SDK, allowing players to build custom content and share it through Steam Workshop or install mods manually.

On the technical side, GSC is working to remove shader compilation at launch (for faster loading) and add ultrawide monitor support.

New weapons are also on the way, and the developers say they’ll continue fixing bugs and improving performance — though some planned features may shift if development challenges arise.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 remains one of Eastern Europe’s most ambitious game projects — made during wartime, under pressure, and with global attention. Every update is a step closer to a game that fans have waited over a decade to play.
