Samsung has officially unveiled its new mid-range smartphone — the Galaxy M47 5G. While mirroring many specifications of the Galaxy A27, the newcomer delivers significantly longer battery life, faster charging speeds, and an aggressive price tag, making it one of the most promising contenders in its segment.
The Main Highlight: Battery Life and Gaming Enhancements
The Galaxy M-series has always been renowned for its massive batteries, and the M47 5G keeps the tradition alive. The smartphone features a 6,000 mAh battery. Unlike most of the brand’s budget-friendly devices that top out at 25W, this model supports fast wired charging up to 45W.
Additionally, Samsung has integrated a feature called Bypass Charging. During intensive gaming sessions or high workloads, it routes power from the adapter directly to the processor, bypassing the battery entirely. This significantly lowers thermal output and prevents premature battery degradation.
Hardware and Display
The smartphone sports a premium 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. The screen is shielded by flagship-grade Gorilla Glass Victus+.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Users can choose between configurations with 6GB or 8GB of RAM (fast LPDDR5X standard) and internal storage options of 128GB or 256GB (UFS 3.1).
Please note: Following the trend of its flagship lineups, Samsung is phasing out expandable storage in its mid-range devices as well — this model lacks a microSD card slot.
Cameras and Software
The triple rear camera setup consists of:

- Macro sensor: 2 MP
The 12 MP front-facing camera is housed in a neat punch-hole cutout centered at the top of the display.
Out of the box, the Galaxy M47 5G runs on the latest Android 16 operating system with the proprietary One UI 8.5 skin. The biggest surprise, however, is the software support lifetime. Samsung promises 6 years of major OS updates and security patches for this budget-tier device, a benefit previously reserved exclusively for high-end flagships.

Pricing and Availability
The smartphone will initially debut in India, with sales kicking off on July 4. It will be available in two gradient colorways: Blaze Blue and Rogue Red.
The base variant (6/128 GB) will launch at approximately $243, making it one of the most compelling high-capacity devices on the market given its price-to-performance ratio, battery endurance, and long-term software commitment. Release dates for the European market are expected to be announced later.
