Samsung launched the One UI 9 beta back in May, but for a long time only Galaxy S26 owners got to try the new interface. That’s about to change — beta builds have now shown up on the company’s test servers for a whole bunch of other models, including the good old S25, S24, and even a few Galaxy A phones.
One UI 9 Beta Expands to More Samsung Galaxy Phones
Samsung hasn’t officially announced anything yet. Still, the signs are piling up: the Galaxy S26 series has already gone through seven beta builds, so the company is likely wrapping up testing on its flagships. On top of that, Samsung has opened separate beta sections on its community forum for the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 — a pretty clear hint that their turn is coming soon.
Phones that could potentially join the list:
- Galaxy S series: S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S23, S23+, S23 Ultra
- Galaxy Z series: Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7
- Galaxy A series: A57, A56, A55, A54, A36, A35
Worth noting right away: this isn’t an official list from Samsung. A beta build showing up on the servers doesn’t guarantee that any specific phone will actually get the public beta.
The most surprising part of this list is the Galaxy A54. The phone launched all the way back in 2023, and if Samsung really does open the beta for it, that would mean an update landing 17 months ahead of schedule. Samsung usually feeds updates to its pricier S and Z lines first before moving on to the budget-friendly A series, so this kind of generosity is unusual.
As for One UI 9 itself — it’s built on Android 17 and brings more customization options, new security tools, and updates to several first-party apps. AI is also a big part of the release, though some of the more advanced features won’t be available on every Galaxy device.
The stable version is already shipping on the new Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy S26 series is set to get it soon. Samsung hasn’t said when the wider beta will kick off, but given that beta pages are already popping up on the community forum, Galaxy S25 owners and recent Fold and Flip users probably won’t have to wait too long.
