Apple has updated the logic of purchasing Mac computers in its official online store. The changes do not affect the page design but focus on the configuration selection process itself.
Users no longer see ready-made standard Mac models with fixed specifications. Instead, the store now opens a step-by-step configurator right away, where customers must manually choose key parameters such as the model, display, processor, memory, and storage.
In practice, Apple has removed the “quick selection” stage between several typical configurations and shifted the focus to full customization from the very first step. This may simplify choosing a specific model for experienced users, while making the process less straightforward for those who are used to buying a Mac by simply selecting a base version.
The change appears logical given the constant expansion of Apple’s chip lineup and Mac configurations, where differences between models become less obvious without detailed customization. Apple has not yet commented on whether this update applies globally to all regions, but the new approach is already visible in the online store.
