WWDC 2025: What We’re Not Expecting From Apple This Year

WWDC 2025: що ми не побачимо від Apple

26, if Apple switches to year-based names), and new features under the “Apple Intelligence” banner. But what about the hardware?

Let’s just say… you might want to temper your expectations.

Below are three things we don’t expect Apple to show at WWDC 2025. Just our guesses — let’s see how many we get right.

1. No iPhone 17 Air. Not even a tease.

There have been plenty of rumors about a redesigned, ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air — Apple’s sleek answer to the Galaxy S25 Edge. But we’re betting Apple won’t even hint at it.

Even if the device is done and ready, Apple knows how to keep its biggest releases under wraps until fall. So no teasers, no silhouettes, no “one more thing.” September is the time for iPhones. June is not.

2. No new iPads or MacBooks

Apple just refreshed the iPad Air and iPad Pro with M2 and M4 chips, respectively. The iPad mini got an update too. That’s why we’re not expecting any new tablets at WWDC 2025.

Same with the MacBook Pro. There are zero credible leaks about an M5 version, and historically, Apple doesn’t drop new laptops at WWDC unless they support a developer-specific feature. Sure, the M4 iPad launched earlier than expected — but we’re not counting on déjà vu here.

3. No apology tour for Apple Intelligence

AI from Apple had a rocky rollout earlier this year, and some users were… less than impressed. But don’t expect Tim Cook to say “we’re sorry”. That’s not Apple’s style.

Instead, we’ll likely get a polished demo of where Apple Intelligence stands now — no drama, no rehashing past hiccups. Just quiet confidence and slick slides.

Bonus: No magical, mind-blowing gadgets

No XR glasses. No blood sugar monitors in Apple Watch. No sci-fi “surprise” gadgets.

WWDC 2025 will likely focus entirely on software — new OS names (maybe iOS 26 and macOS 26), redesigns across platforms, AI tools, APIs for devs. And honestly? That’s probably a smart move.

So, will we get any of these predictions right? We’ll find out in just a few days. Stick around for our full breakdown once the keynote wraps.
