Lenovo is preparing to expand its Legion lineup: two new tablets—the 11-inch and 13-inch Y900—are set to be unveiled in May. Currently, gaming tablets are a niche where Lenovo feels perhaps more confident than anyone else.
11 and 13 Inches: Lenovo Prepares a Massive Update to the Legion Y900 Series
If anyone has been waiting for a powerful Android tablet that isn’t from Samsung, it’s worth holding out until May. It will be interesting to see how heavily the 13-inch version drains the battery under load. Essentially, Lenovo is making a “knight’s move” by releasing two formats at once to cover the needs of those who want to play on the go and those who need a laptop replacement.
Here is what we know so far based on the facts (and a few of my own thoughts):
1. Form Factors and Positioning
- Legion Y900 11″: This will be the successor to the “compact” gaming tablets. It’s the ideal size for handheld use—not too heavy, but large enough to see details in shooters or RPGs. It comes with a stylus and a keyboard cover.
- Legion Y900 13″: This one is a serious competitor to the iPad Pro or even small ultrabooks. Judging by the teasers, it will feature a dual main camera (the 11-inch model only has one). This suggests it is being positioned as a workhorse for content creators, not just for gaming.

2. Hardware (What’s Inside)
While Lenovo is keeping official specifications under wraps until May 19, based on previous leaks and the series’ logic, insiders have dropped some info.
- Most likely, we will see flagship chips. Expect either a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or a very powerful Dimensity (the previous Y900 model was based on the Dimensity 9000).
- A minimum of 12GB of RAM. Anything less for a gaming tablet in 2026 simply makes no sense.
- Looking at the previous generation (which featured a 12,300 mAh battery), the 13-inch version should hold a charge quite well despite the massive screen. Plus, it should support 68W fast charging (or maybe even more).
3. Screens
This is the main highlight. The previous Y900 featured a 14.5-inch OLED with 3K resolution and 120Hz. In the new models, we expect:
- OLED panels on both versions.
- A 144Hz refresh rate (the standard for the Legion gaming line).
- High brightness (around 500-600 nits), which is crucial if you’re working in a cafe by the window.
The biggest mystery remains the price and the global release. Last time, the 14.5-inch Y900 was released globally as the Lenovo Tab Extreme and carried a hefty price tag. If the 11-inch model is more affordable, it could become a massive hit.
As for the 13-inch model—it’s clearly a gadget for those who want maximum screen real estate but hate using Windows on tablets. We’re waiting for the May 19 presentation to sort everything out.
